The Corruption Scandal You Probably Never Heard of
In Cleveland, it was called "one of the biggest local political-machine corruption cases in recent U.S. history." The indictment of Jimmy Dimora, according to one headline, "caps the crumbling of his classic Democratic political machine." (Tony Brown, reporter) The case is still ongoing three years after the FBI raided Dimora's home. And today, a jury found Cuyahoga County Common Pleas Judge Steven Terry guilty of three out of five counts of mail fraud. He is the second judge waiting to be sentenced.

Denver Post Sports Writer Lifts Quotes
June 7, 2011 - Denver Post sports columnist Woody Paige apologized for lifting quotes from a SportsBusiness Journal article without attrition. Wikipedia entry: "The Denver Post issued a correction without any admission of misdeed or public consequence to the plagiarist. ESPN failed to acknowledge the lifting of material ever happened."
Paige was not suspended or fired.

WashPo Reporter Suspended for Making Up Twitter Story
September 13, 2010 - Washington Post sports reporter Mike Wise was suspended by the paper for a month for making up a story and posting it to his Twitter account. He said he made up the story to show that "a made-up, un-sourced story would be picked up and printed by mainstream newspapers." They did.
WashPo Reporter Suspended for Plagarism
March 17, 2011 - The Washington Post says it has suspended a Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Sari Horwitz for plagiarizing information she used in articles lifted from articles in the Arizona Republic without attributing them to the newspaper.
